San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Diego follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Parts changers. Can’t troubleshoot anything. Had an emissions issue and a suspension issue. Couldn’t troubleshoot either. Hit me with a 14k estimate for a new one box, when we in fact do not need a one box. I have an airbag that has overextended 3 times now. I told the owner Paco specifically, “don’t just change the airbag, figure out the issue so this doesn’t happen again” practically no communication back from this shop telling me what they were planning on doing, just a call at the end with the bill. My driver doesn’t even make it an hour and the same airbag overextended a 4th time. Terrible shop. Stay far away from here unless you just need a part changed and nothing actually figured out by a competent professional.

$1000 for a transmission flash is a little to much. When asked why the bill is so high he told me that the classes for his son were to expensive. I have to mention that this was road service 10 minutes away from his shop. $180 Road side fee $800 transmission ecm flash $25 administration fee. Pack was honest enough to tell me that if he wanted he could tell me that the transmission is bad and it would have cost me a lot more. Robbery at its finest. Stay away.

I couldn’t say enough nice things about these guys and feel so grateful to have found them. When I started my trucking business I had it narrowed down to two shops based on online reviews, and ultimately chose PTR due to the ease of doing business with. PTR’s customer service is fantastic and attention to their craft is unparalleled. I’ve been doing business with PTR for over a year, during that time they have taken care of all of my 90 day/annual DOT inspections for both the tractor and trailer. My best case to evidence the breadth and depth of their mechanical knowledge came during the “parts shortage” when my APU went out and a replacement part couldn’t be found. Rather than turn me away, they took the time to rebuild the part and today (1.5 years later) it’s still working perfectly. Everything that has come up with the truck since I started “trucking” has been handled by PTR and it’s been fixed correctly the first time. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable/ethical diesel mechanic, these guys are the best.

Thank you to Paco and his team!! I brought in my unit for some part replacements. I’ve had trouble looking for them but PTR was able to source them efficiently. Also their repair time window was spot on. I appreciate the honesty and the professionalism. I’ll def be bringing my fleet from here on out!

The AC decided to quit on me while hauling produce to San Diego. I’m not much for heat, so I gave these guys a call. They’re a little tricky to find but if you follow the various orange arrows on the fences and signs, it’ll lead you back to the shop. It’s located in a maze of small companies and yards. There is a place to park a big rig with a trailer, but you’ll have to back all the way out. Nowhere to turn around as far as I could see. I dropped my trailer on the street named “Radar”. They’ll check out your rig free of charge, then let you know what it’ll cost to repair, leaving the decision to the driver. Hope this helps.
